REPRESSION : L'aCTUALITé sur la DICTATURE OCCIDENTALE EN YougoslavIe
BELGRADE, 19 AVRIL 2001 DSS Demands Criminal Proceedings Against SRS LeaderThe
Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) on Thursday filed a request for opening
criminal proceedings against Serbian Radical Party (SRS) President
Vojislav Seselj in connection with an incident that he allegedly provoked
in Belgrade's Zemun municipality. Seselj
"is directly responsible for an attack on and inflicting injuries
to" DSS Zemun Municipal Board member and Zemun Municipal Hall
official Jovica Andjelkovic, the statement said. "If someone attacks the vice-president of the Executive Committee of a municipality and gets away with it, then what kind of protection can citizens expect from the state in which they live", the statement concluded.

Whip Says DOS Inner Circle Discussed His Murder
Serbian
Radical Party (SRS) whip at the Serbian parliament Vojislav Seselj said on
Thursday 19 april that the
inner circle of the governing Democratic Opposition of Serbia (DOS) had
discussed his murder. "This
was discussed by Dusan Mihajlovic, Vladan Batic and Zoran Djindjic, I know
this for a fact", Seselj told reporters after the interruption of
the Thursday Serbian parliament session. He
quoted some examples of what he believed was the maltreatment of the
Radicals by DOS. This shows how much the Radicals stand in the way of DOS, which is why they are trying to disable us by using measures of sheer repression, but they will never succeed in it, he said.
BELGRADE, 19 AVRIL 2001 Seselj, People Around Him Have To Be Made To Observe LawNew
Democracy (ND) called Thursday on appropriate bodies to apply the law on
all perpetrators of criminal acts around the leader of the Serbian Radical
Party (SRS - nationalist), Vojislav Seselj, "including Seselj
himself". "Punished
at the elections by citizens, those who have abandoned civilized behaviour,
decency, law and order, drivers of stole jeeps and circus performers on
the Serbian political scene believe their only salvation is
eccentric primitivism and unrestrained violence", the statement
assessed. ND considers that the Serbian parliament "must urgently find effective mechanisms for its unhampered and constructive work the will prevent exhibitionists, bullies and political and human failures to block its work and degrade its reputation".
BELGRADE, 19 AVRIL 2001 Hearings Of Witnesses In Milosevic Case ContinueInvestigating
magistrate of the Belgrade prosecutor's office Milan Cavlina heard
Thursday 19 april the testimonies of several witnesses in the case of
former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic, the office of defense lawyer
Toma Fila told Tanjug. The
hearings will continue in the coming days, lawyer Vlada Petrovic said,
adding that the names of the witnesses will not be disclosed in the
interest of investigation. According
to Petrovic, Milosevic's condition remains unchanged and he is still
suffering high blood pressure. The court was informed of this and the investigating magistrate is expected to take relevant decisions on pursuing the investigation.
BELGRADE, 19 AVRIL 2001 Serbian
Supreme Court Annuls Ruling To Extend Milanovic's Detention The
Serbian Supreme Court annulled a Belgrade District Court ruling extending
detention for Serbian Radio Television (RTS) former general director
Dragoljub Milanovic, at the Supreme Court. Supreme
Court President Leposava Karamarkovic said the District Court would
reexamine extending detention and that Milanovic would remain in custody
until the final decision. Milanovic was detained on February 13, and one month later, the District Court decided to extend detention for two months, and Milanovic's defense lawyer subsequently appealed.
BELGRADE, 19 AVRIL 2001 Investigation To Be Launched Against Slobodan Milosevic's Daughter The
Second Municipal Court in Belgrade issued a decision on launching an
investigation against former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic's
daughter, Marija, Court President Gordana Mihailovic told Tanjug on
Thursday. In
the presence of her lawyer, Marija Milosevic underwent a hearing on
Wednesday, after which the decision on investigation in regular court
procedure was issued, Mihailovic said. A
request to launch an investigation against Marija Milosevic was issued for
endangering public safety and illegal possession of weapons. During
Slobodan Milosevic's arrest early on April 1, his daughter fired shots
from a revolver, bringing into jeopardy the people who rallied outside the
house. Milosevic's
daughter is also suspected of the illegal possession of weapons, since
another revolver, for which she does not have a licence, was found in her
possession. Investigation
Extended Against Sinisa Vucunic The
investigation against Yugoslav Left party ranking official Sinisa Vucinic
underway in the Second Municipal Court in Belgrade, has been extended to
include about 30 persons, the court's president, Gordana Mihailovic, told
Tanjug. The
Serbian Interior Ministry filed criminal charges against Vucinic for
taking part in violence during the taking into custody of former Yugoslav
president Slobodan Milosevic, on April 1. Vucinic
is in custody, and the investigation has been extended to include
civilians and special agents from the former president's security detail. The criminal act with which the suspects have been charged carries a prison sentence of up to ten years, Judge Mihailovic said.
BELGRADE, 19 AVRIL 2001 FALSE
CHARGES AGAINST MILOSEVIC !
The
trail Running Dry in the Hunt for Milosevic so-called "Assets". A
worldwide hunt for money allegedly looted by Slobodan Milosevic has failed
to nail down any assets of the former yougoslavian president, officials
and investigators said on Thursday 11 April. One
trail runs from a Yugoslav gold mine to Switzerland, others point to
secret bank accounts in Cyprus, Greece and Switzerland and in Britain,
police are doing an asset-tracing exercise. But nothing has been traced to
Milosevic, they said. "The
hunt is going on but with very little to show so far", Yugoslav
Ambassador to Britain, Vladeta Jankovic (menber of proNATO DOS), told
Reuters. "People are trying desperately. They've been in
Switzerland, Cyprus and also in London". On
the trail are investigators from the new proNATO government of Yugoslavia,
Switzerland, the U.S. treasury department, British and Western
intelligence agencies, police and the UN chief war crimes prosecutor, the
american muppets, Carla del Ponte. The
alleged plundering of Yugoslav state assets is at the heart of Belgrade's
charges of embezzlement, abuse of power and siphoning off government funds
against Milosevic, after his April 1 arrest. The
new Yugoslav Central Bank governor Mladjan Dinkic has said, without any
evidence to show, that Milosevic allegedly squirreled away $4 billion. But
a senior Yugoslav government official who declined to be named said
investigators so far "did not find a penny that belongs to
Milosevic personally". For
his part, Swiss Justice Ministry spokesman Folco Galli said : "There
is no money belonging to Milosevic in banks in Switzerland".
BELGRADE, 14 AVRIL 2001 ASSASSINER MILOSEVIC ?
BELGRADE, 14 AVRIL 2001 TENTATIVE
TO ASSASSINATE MILOSEVIC ? After
less than two weeks in jail, the ousted Yugoslav leader Slobodan Milosevic
has been taken to hospital with chest pains, hypertension and high blood
pressure. Milosevic's
health became a political issue yesterday when nationalist leader,
Vojislav Seselj, president of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS), gave
warning that it should be considered a "political assassination"
if he died. Seselj
asked: "Why hasn't Milosevic had these troubles until now?" For
its part, Socialist Party (SPS) said on April 13 : "Milosevic came to
the prison in good health and now he's on the verge of having a heart
attack. Obviously the conditions there aren't normal." SPS
sais too that the health of former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic
was worse now than when he was hospitalized two days ago. On
april 14 in Belgrade, during a big rally to suport Milosevic, officials of
SPS said again "that his imprisonment could ``jeopardize his life''
because of his allegedly deteriorating health".``Slobodan Milosevic
must be allowed to have conditions that will not further deteriorate his
health ... and jeopardize his life,'' said too a top official in
Milosevic's Socialist party, Milos Janicijevic. SPS
claim that Yugoslavia's new pro-democracy leaders have pushed doctors to
give Milosevic a clean medical report. Janicijevic and another top
Socialist official, Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic said that Milosevic should be
released to ``recover at home.'' (Reuters/AP/AFP/Correspondance
parti »,
a dit Ivkovic.
a déclaré Seselj.
(BORBA) BELGRADE, 11 AVRIL 2001 Yugoslav Parliament Committee To Debate Immunity of Former PremiersThe
Credentials and Immunity Committee of the Yugoslav parliament Chamber of
Citizens (lower house) will debate Wednesday the revoking of immunity of
two Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) MP's who are under investigation,
Tanjug learned Tuesday. The
request for revoking the immunity of former Yugoslav premiers Jovan Zebic
and Nikola Sainovic was presented last week by the Belgrade District Court
prosecutor. Zebic
and Sainovic, together with former Yugoslav president and SPS leader
Slobodan Milosevic, former head of the Customs Authority Mihalj Kertes and
former State Security chief Radomir Markovic are charged with abuse of
office. (BORBA)
BELGRADE, 11 AVRIL 2001 Prosecutor Requests Investigation of Former Serbian MinisterThe
Belgrade district prosecutor's office has requested investigation of
former Serbian minister of science and technology Branislav Ivkovic, at
present Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) whip in the Serbian parliament. A
statement signed by Acting District Prosecutor Rada Terzic, the request
was made on Apr 5 as Ivkovic is suspected of abuse of office, including
overstepping his powers and unlawful redirecting of budget funds earmarked
for his ministry to benefit the SPS, the Serbian Radical Party, the Borba
and Politika companies and the Foundation for fighting drug and alcohol
addiction and sects (FONAS). (BORBA)

competent court in Belgrade said Monday that on April 6, acting upon
charges filed by the police, it submitted to the investigative judge a
demand for conducting an investigation against Marija Milosevic, for
endangering public safety. An
investigation was also launched against the daughter of the former
president of Yugoslavia for illegal possession of arms. The investigation demand for endangering public safety involves the events in the garden of Milosevic's villa on April 1 around 04.30 when Marija fired several bullets thereby "endangering the lives of several persons there present." (BORBA)

AVRIL 2001 Hearing
of Witnesses in Former Serbian TV Director Case To End Tuesday The
hearing of witnesses in the investigation of former Serbian Radio and
Television (RTS) director Dragoljub Milanovic should be completed Tuesday,
Tanjug has learned from Palace of Justice sources. According
to investigative judge of the Belgrade District Court Vucko Mircic, the
hearing of the remaining witnesses Tuesday will complete the part of the
investigation concerning abuse of office of which Milanovic is suspected. Milanovic
is also charged with acts against general security, in connection with the
killing of 16 RTS employees in the NATO bombing of RTS premises in central
Belgrade in April 1999. Milanovic
was arrested over one month ago on the second charge, and his custody was
extended by two months after charges on abuse of office were filed
subsequently. (BORBA) |
